IHSA reviewing state-championship possibilities for disables high school athletes | The Republic

The Illinois High School Association is studying the possibility of state championship-level sports activities for students with disabilities...A school board member from Eureka told the board that sports can be invaluable for students with disabilities. Teri Ehrenhardt told the committee that her son, Kellen, has Down syndrome and ran cross country and track when he was in school. She said he now helps out as a coach for other athletes.
