What a Welcome! Quantas airline staff treat Glee's Lauren Potter to a surprise serenade in the style of the show as she touches down in Australia

Glee fans, or ‘Gleeks’ as they are fondly known, are used to being entertained by the singing and dancing numbers on the famous show - but on Wednesday the tables were turned on one of the series favourite actresses.

Lauren Potter, 24, who plays Becky Jackson the Cheerios co-captain, landed Down Under on her Qantas flight, she was treated to a very special performance by singers in Qantas air steward outfits.

The pint-sized star, who is currently in Australia to support and co-host e.motion21's Annual Dance Spectacular in Camberwell on Sunday, looked overwhelmed, happy and touched by the surprise serenade.

Glee's Lauren Potter given Aussie welcome on Qantas flight

In the touching video uploaded on Thursday, of Lauren being surprised in the Glee-style stunt, the aircraft door is pulled open, and an air hostess and steward, say: 

‘Lauren Potter welcome to Australia, a place for absolutely everybody, everybody…’ before the pair launch into Australian Vanessa Amorosi's hit song.

 

The actress, who has Downs syndrome, can then be seen being led into the airport while singing Qantas the air hostess held onto her hand.

Looking incredibly excited Lauren then reached a huge gang of fans from e.motion21 and a group dance ensued, as well as many hugs.

During her flying visit Glee star Lauren will support e.motion21, which is a not-for-profit volunteer organisation providing a unique dance and fitness program for children and young adults with Down syndrome.

The e.motion21 Annual Dance event will take place in Camberwell on Sunday.

On Thursday morning Lauren told Richard Wilkins on the Today show: ‘I like hip hop and any kind of dance. I love to sing but to tell you the truth I’m not a singer!’

Richard also informed viewers that the star has just been made a special ambassador for people with intellectual disabilities by US president Barack Obama.

Earlier this week Lauren shared a shot of herself in the cockpitt with the caption: 'Landed safely!'.
